About me

Born and raised in the Croatian countryside, I was immersed in the art of teaching from an early age.

My parents, passionate school teachers, genuinely cared about their pupils, investing time to adapt school programs and find innovative ways to make learning more effective and engaging. They involved me in their activities—lessons that still shape my work today.

My beginnings

From medicine to dentistry in Germany

I began my professional journey by graduating in human medicine in Zagreb, but life had other plans. Love brought me to Germany, where new challenges awaited. Amid the competitive landscape following the Berlin Wall’s fall, I pursued dentistry at LMU Munich while raising a young child.

A pivotal moment came during my oral surgery residency under Dr. Dr. Achim Herrmann, who introduced me to the transformative power of education in dentistry.

Soon after

Turning point in my career

The true turning point came during Bob Lamb’s soft tissue course 25 years ago, when he asked: “Do you want me to make you a great periodontist?” That moment reshaped my life. I began approaching each case as a periodontist, preserving tissue whenever possible and using my oral surgery toolbox to rebuild tissue when needed.

Aftermath

Combining clinical work, research, and education

Over 25 years, I’ve performed countless surgeries in the aesthetic zone, published original techniques in peer-reviewed journals, and mentored dentists who have become accomplished clinicians and educators.

Today, alongside my husband (yes, the boyfriend who brought me to Germany) and our son Marko, who recently joined my educational company, I focus on what I love most: diagnosis, planning, surgeries, and mentoring.

Rooted in my childhood creativity and shaped by mentors who saw my potential before I did, I now strive to inspire others.

As Bob Proctor said: “A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself and helps bring it out of you.” That is the spirit I bring to every patient, every lecture, and every mentorship.
